About Plains Web

Plains Web is dedicated to providing hosting solutions to the rural small business community.

As a rural small business ourselves, we understand that your needs may be overlooked by the larger hosting companies. We started Plains Web out of necessity for our former parent company, Kiowa County Press, which is a small town newspaper.

When Kiowa County Press wanted a web site, the larger hosting companies either charged too much, or offered a confusing and incomprehensible array of services, most of which were not needed. Many of the low-price providers regularly tried to sell numerous "add-on" features that other companies included, boosting the cost of the service.

Plains Web strives to do one thing well: host web sites. We manage our own equipment and seek solutions to fit our customers' needs. We don't try to force our customers to buy extra services to improve our bottom line, but we do offer a choice of services designed to meet the needs of small businesses.

Currently, Plains Web is serving the hosting needs of sites for small businesses such as a weekly newspaper, rural hospital, bed & breakfast, seasoning/spice company, graphic artist, magazine columnist, secretarial service, government agency, marketing company, an agricultural products company, gunsmith, recycling company, and others.

Plains Web is a division of Plains Network Services, Inc., which also provides dial-up internet access in rural southeast Colorado, and other data communication services.

Jeanne Sorensen is a founder and President of Plains Network Services, Inc. Chris Sorensen is currently serving as the System Administrator.
