Domain Parking

If you would like to reserve a domain name, but are not yet ready to publish your web site, Plains Web can provide you with "free parking" while you prepare your site. Domain parking is available for whether you have already registered a name, or would like us to register a name for you. Once you are ready to publish you web site, we can quickly activate it under any of our standard monthly account plans.

Why Domain Parking? In order to register a domain name, you must provide two valid domain name server addresses. You cannot register a domain without those addresses. Many companies charge a monthly or yearly fee for this "service." Plains Web does not. We will even provide you with a complimentary "Coming Soon" web page while you ready your site for publishing.

If you have not yet registered a domain name, we can handle the registration process for you. A $17.99 registration fee (per year) applies, however this price is nearly 50% less than VeriSign / Network Solutions charges.

Additional Email Addresses

Plains Web can provide you with a virtually unlimited number of e-mail addresses. From two to ten addresses are included in the setup fee for your account. If you would like additional addresses, a $2.00 one-time set up fee applies for each additional address. There are no additional monthly fees once and address has been set up.

Additional Storage

Each account includes a pre-defined amount of storage space included in the monthly fee. If you need additional space for your files, you may add space in 5 Mb increments. Each additional 5 Mb costs $1.00 per month. If you exceed your pre-defined storage space, additional space will be automatically added, and reflected in your monthly invoice.

Weekly Backup

Plains Web can make backup copies of your files. The backup copies are then stored in a secure location. If you should lose or damage any or all of your web files for any reason, we can restore these file from the most recent backup copy.

Weekly Backup is an "insurance policy" service, giving you extra protection and peace of mind for a low monthly fee. We are not able to restore any file you damage or lose if you do not subscribe to the weekly backup service. Note: any files you add between each weekly backup are not stored until the end of the week, and would and could not be restored. For example, if a weekly backup is performed Sunday, files added Monday through Saturday would not be backed up until the next backup on the following Sunday.

Restore from Backup

If you subscribe to our Weekly Backup service, we will restore lost or damaged files from you from our backup media. A $100.00 fee per restore incident applies. A "restore incident" is defined as retrieving one or more files from backup media during a 48 hour period. This 48 hour period begins approximately 1 hour after we receive notification from you that you will need to have files restored. While we encourage you to tell us all files that you will need to have restored in your initial notification to us, we understand that you may discover additional missing or damaged files after your initial notification is sent to us.

Our backup media is stored in a secure location away from our main facility, and must be retrieved before we can begin the process of restoring files for you. For this reason, it may take up to one hour for us to begin restoring your files. We will make every effort to restore your files as quickly as possible, often within a few hours. Depending upon the size of your site and the number of files to be restored, additional time may be necessary.

Note: If you discover that your files have been damaged or missing for several weeks, recent backup may also contain damaged files, or be missing file. Backups are retained for a minimum of four weeks, so you may request that we restore some or all of your files from backup copies older than the most recent week. In this situation, additional time will be necessary in order to retrieve and restore all requested files.

Domain Name Registration

Plains Web can register or renew your domain name (example: yourname.com) for $17.99 per year, a savings of nearly 50 percent versus registration through VeriSign/Network Solutions at the standard rate.

If you have previously registered a domain name, Plains Web can assist you with your annual renewals.
